In the last few years there has been a extraordinarily rapid increase in the quantity of individuals selling information, making promises of easy money, and offering guaranteed winning ratios that simply defy logic. While a small percentage of these individuals are genuine, I doubt that you would find them in an advanced Texas Holdem poker room or in aoddy little website littered with bogus, fake, and scammy sales copy.
The majority of those selling these so called secret tips and strategies are in reality concepteers, artists, or con-artists, and the majority of those concepteers and artists are no more than a willing dupe of slick salesmen who are in it to make some quick money selling information than they are in it to actually win at poker.
I have a song, I’ve got a vision, I’ve got a shorthand, but what do I know about winning at poker? I guess, at best, you could say I’m fairly certain of what I don’t want. I don’t particularly believe that there are whatsoever advanced Texas Holdem poker strategies or systems that are going to work so I decided to examine the matter and make a few findings.
I chose to look at the question, ‘How do I win at poker?’ as this is the first question that you should ask yourself when taking a look at how to win at poker.
As an introductory point, it would be wise to say that you can win at poker, but if you win and you cheat, there’s nothing left of you! govern your actions, and you will become quite sloppy and perhaps steal chips and blinds from other players. If you win and you go to war with another poker player who is significantly better than you, you will probably lose.
But I hear you say, ‘They can’t prove that I can win. It’s all luck of the draw.’ True, but you can’t deny that in poker, the player with better or worse cards has won more than they lost. Every hand has a certain utility, and if you can decipher the reasons why you lost that hand, you will eventually be successful. Ultimately, to become a success at poker, you are not only going to have to learn all the poker rules, you are going to have to know as much about the games that you are playing.
Just as in chess, it’s important to know which pieces to actively avoid and which to actively pursue, you can’t afford to be careless with your blinds because the fewer opportunities you give your opponents to guess at your hand the greater your chances will be of winning in the long term. However, you can afford to be meticulous in your minimizing your mistakes because you are dealing with people, who are better than you, so the idea of losing a pot, especially the big pots is painful.
But if you’re not writing seven suicide notes per night, you’re probably folding too much. Many amateur players know that they’re not comfortably folding four starters during a poker session, and that’s ok, it’s slightly better to fold when you have written a while in the blind. For example, if you have opened the pot on the button with suit 5,5 dansitexpro, you shouldn’t be rolling with a 2 or 6. That’s the worst possible poker hands, the coldest possible poker hands. However, to forfeit before the flop with these hands is not the correct poker strategy.
The correct strategy for you personally is to fold after the flop no matter what cards you have because you don’t want to mislead your opponents as to what you have. Also part of your strategy should be to accurately deduce what your opponents have and what cards they may be holding. This can be done by using basic poker math, reading your opponents, or counting cards (Data SGP).
If you feel that you are beaten, and you have a decent chance of winning with what you have, consider a check-raise. If you’re sure that your hand is better than your opponents, a check-raise can in fact be counter-intuitive to your opponents.
This style of play is also valuable in that it allows your opponents to be particularly choosy in what cards they want to play. You should always calculate the odds that your hand will hold up against your opponents.
